Description

Fågelsjö gammelgård Bortom Åa is one of the seven Hälsinge farms that was added to UNESCO's World Heritage List on July 1, 2012.

Bortom Åa is a well-preserved cultural environment with roots from the Finnish immigration in the 17th century and is an invaluable source of knowledge about building techniques, self-sufficiency, craftsmanship, and folk art. In 1910, a new house was built on the farmyard, and the old main building from 1818 was left intact with all furniture and items preserved. The farm was bequeathed by the last owner to the municipality in 1943 and is now owned by Ljusdal Municipality.

We are now looking for guides for the summer season.

The job also includes answering the phone, receiving bookings, handling the cash register, maintaining order in public areas, assisting with events, locking up, and setting alarms. Before you can conduct your own guided tours, you will attend introductory days and read material.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who is self-driven, engaged, and comfortable speaking in front of groups in both Swedish and English. An interest in history, old buildings and objects, crafts, and nature is desirable. It is an advantage if you speak multiple languages and have guiding experience.

A driver's license is required.
